The failed brownies

(Not doing very well this year am I?)

Made some brownies from...a mix! However had the clever idea to put some
of the mix into my mother's madeleine forms. The rest went into a baking
dish. Despite greasing the plaques thoroughly the baked brownies
wouldn't release from the forms. Ended up sprinkling a little water on
them to soften the brownies and scooped the stuff into a bowl.

Added an egg and a little milk and rebaked it as a pudding. Delicious!
Could have used some custard/creme anglaise on it but hey not bad at
all!

Any successful rescues of failed food out there?

My husband's lemonade-from-lemons experience:

It was two simple white layers which he planned to fill and frost as usual.
One layer not only failed to rise, but came out of the oven with the top
caved in. So he filled the concave layer with a cream filling and poured a
chocolate glaze over the top. Sounds like Boston cream pie? Right, and a
delicious one.
