LOL. I don't know if you watched the video clip. If you did you'll see
that the bench is sponsored by a Caribbean restaurant at the Fair. I
think there's a song by that name.

So, in which court do you want me to file the complaint? I'm thinkin'
the Minnesota 5th Judicial District. We'll sue the Minnesota State
Fair, the Caribbean restaurant, the company that placed the benches
and the advertising company that placed the copy. Cause of action?
"Willfully ****ing Off Barb Schaller." I'm sure there's a Minnesota
statute that addresses this. I'll research it first thing Monday.

Of course, you might not want to try to enter a Minnesota State Fair
competition again...

Heck, anyone who knows me and sees the bench will probably think that
*I* ponied up the $1500 for it. Shoot, I haven't even coughed up $150
for an engraved brick on the plaza yet.

Hey, KSTP has posted the video that they ran on the 6:00 p.m. news.
Have a looksee: http://kstp.com/article/stories/S176666.shtml?cat=10435

The little video is at the right of the text.

They're going to run another clip but I've not yet been told when it is
scheduled.

So.....Not only a Ribbon Queen, but a TV star too?

Way to go Barb!

Jammin'
(Bob Marley)
Ooh, yeah! All right!
We're jammin':
I wanna jam it wid you.
We're jammin', jammin',
And I hope you like jammin', too.

Ain't no rules, ain't no vow, we can do it anyhow:
I'n'I will see you through,
'Cos everyday we pay the price with a little sacrifice,
Jammin' till the jam is through.

We're jammin' -
To think that jammin' was a thing of the past;
We're jammin',
And I hope this jam is gonna last.

No bullet can stop us now, we neither beg nor we won't bow;
Neither can be bought nor sold.
We all defend the right; Jah - Jah children must unite:
Your life is worth much more than gold.

We're jammin' (jammin', jammin', jammin')
And we're jammin' in the name of the Lord;
We're jammin' (jammin', jammin', jammin'),
We're jammin' right straight from Yah.

Yeh! Holy Mount Zion;
Holy Mount Zion:
Jah sitteth in Mount Zion
And rules all creation.

Yeah, we're - we're jammin' (wotcha-wa),
Wotcha-wa-wa-wa, we're jammin' (wotcha-wa),
See, I wanna jam it wid you
We're jammin' (jammin', jammin', jammin')
I'm jammed: I hope you're jammin', too.

Jam's about my pride and truth I cannot hide
To keep you satisfied.
True love that now exist is the love I can't resist,
So jam by my side.

We're Jammin' (jammin', jammin', jammin'), yeah-eah-eah!
I wanna jam it wid you.
We're jammin', we're jammin', we're jammin', we're jammin',
We're jammin', we're jammin', we're jammin', we're jammin';
Hope you like jammin', too.
We're jammin', we're jammin' (jammin'),
We're jammin', we're jammin' (jammin').
I wanna (I wanna jam it wid you) - I wanna -
I wanna jam wid you now.
Jammin', jammin' (hope you like jammin' too).
Eh-eh! I hope you like jammin', I hope you like jammin',
'Cause (I wanna jam it wid you). I wanna ... wid you.
I like - I hope you - I hope you like jammin', too.
I wanna jam it;
I wanna jam it.

I was pretty sure it was he. Jamie Whatshername gave me a CD with it
long time ago.

You always photograph/film so nicely. And you *always* have a fabulous
manicure. I think you should be able to take those manicures off on your
taxes as they are part of your image and a necessity!

ROTFLMAOPMPSTC! Thanks. Rob's comment also was, "Nice nails." The
important part of that deal was the pearl necklace * it's a group joke
on r.f.p. * part of the June Cleaver affect. "-) It was fun to see
but we were a little disappointed that they focused so much on the
danger of canning -- that's not exactly the way to encourage a new
canner.

That conversation was a very small part of the 90 minute interview but
it proved the point that I'd made earlier to Rob that the media folks
have their own agendas and take from what they have to support that
focus.

To be fair <grin> they're going to run another (different) piece
sometime soon, probably, and I will guess that that will be more about
my doing the ribbon slut thang for more than 25 years and my success at
it. Didja catch the four jars of pickles, corn relish, and plum jelly?
That's a photograph of my entries some 25 years ago. The jelly and
relish were bluish, one of the pickles was pinkish, and the other pickle
was fifth. I think that's when I got hooked. :-) I found the picture
and stuck it on the wall about 15 minutes before they got to the house
for the interview.

The plum tree still has fruit on it and Rob's been collecting plums from
it twice a day for me. "-) I've juice in the freezer for 90 jars of
jelly so far. And the other day I made a *very* small batch of plum
butter (12 ounces total) that would make you weep. Oy, that stuff is
good. My late friend The Widow Geraldine put me onto doing something
with the cooked plum flesh.

Blahblahblah. (But it's about food, eh, Goomba?)

Very cool. :-)

So do you acidify all veggies (more or less pickling them?)

Thank you, Dollink! The pearls are *the* integral part of the outfit.
The folks on rec.food.preserving know the joke. It's part of our quest
to emulate June Cleaver.

She probably looks better than June does in anycase, since Barb S is way
younger than Barbara Billingsley. Barbara Billingsley (born in 1915) who I
saw not long ago in a SitCom part looked very wrinkled and ancient where as
Barb S doesn't look wrinkled at all. Maybe it is all that steam from the
preserving canner...

Thanks. My hair is now about 1" long on top of my head. Rob calls me
Fuzzy. Trouble is, it needs a haircut about every 3 weeks. I'm glad my
cuts are cheap.
