Default What is shell steak?

I have a beef kabob recipe that calls for 'shell steak' and I'm not sure
what this is. Is it the same as flank steak or skirt steak?

When the tenderloin strip has been removed from the short loin, the
remaining meat is known as a shell steak. Shell steaks are called by a
variety of names, such as strip, New York strip and Kansas City strip.

What a coincidence. I didn't know that Sheldon ran this site:
http://www.culinarycafe.com/Meat_Dis..._Glossary.html

Shell Steak, or Strip Steak: When the tenderloin strip has been removed
from the short loin, the remaining meat is known as a shell steak. Shell
steaks are called by a variety of names, such as strip, New York strip and
Kansas City strip

That's what everyone with lousy teeth and taste in ass disease says...
there are plenty of much more flavorful cuts but you need teeth and
good taste.

Dear Sheldon, take a few deep breaths, the doctor will be there
shortly.
The are "more flavorful cuts," but I find them qualitatively less
pleasing.

Is it bad if I say that I like skirt steak grilled with some chimi
churri sauce? I dunno, to me it's one of the most flavorful cuts. Mind
you, I use very little sauce.

Anything Sheldon didn't think of first is bad. You have to wait until it's
his idea, and you pretend to agree with him.

I didn't choose the tenderloin, now, did I?
I like the flavor of strip steaks.
I was an unusual kid. Most 12 or 13 year olds spend their money on
candy or snowcones or McD's. I used to go to the supermarket and buy
bottom round steaks (they were the cheapest) and eat them raw. My
parents always cooked beef at least med well, if not well, and I loved
raw beef.

Now, those babies were tough.

Nah, every now and so often, I have not agreed with him. For instance,
he states expresso is a cheap drink, made of the most inferior type of
beans.

I have a Saeco Encanto S series expresso / Capuc. maker. It delivers a
wonderful expresso with a thick head of crema and wonderful coffee liquor.

I appreciate that drink after dinner. He obviously has no taste for this.

What can I say. Colors were invented for various tastes.

The plastic grocery bags snap, crackle, and pop in the breeze and

I know the feeling with other programs.... I reverted to an ancient
form of Agent (news reader) because I hated Agent v4. I didn't need
the upgrades and didn't want them.

Why don't companies make a practice of archiving all the older
versions so that people who PAID for them (and were satisfied with
their version) can reinstall them when their hard drives bite the
dust? I wouldn't even mind paying a nominal fee for an old version
that is tweaked to work with the newer platforms (*don't* assume I
want more bells and whistles - and please don't assume I want
integrated software). I hate to think about this version of Agent and
trying to use it with Vista....

Fast aren't they. One way to catch them is to dangle a big stick in front
of them. They snap at the stick and latch on hard enough that you can pull
them out.

We once caught a huge one in the pond on a friend's farm. It was so big
that it would not fit in a large wheelbarrow. He held onto that stick hard
enough that we were able to stretch his head out far enough over a log to
chop it off. That pond was our swimming hole and that guy was big enough
to bite off a toe or two.

A "skirt steak" is what Scotsmen call the tiny appendage hiding
frightened under their kilts.

When I Google your nick I find "pain in the ass, jerk, asshole"

This is a group where we all learn. If every person Googled every thought
they had nobody would ever benefit from it. I mean **** it, man, I never
even heard of shell steak in my whole life nor would I ever have learned
what the hell it was unless somebody asked. If hey just Googled it, I'd be
at a loss. So now I am more educated, I know a little bit more, I have more
knowledge. That is what this whole group is all about.

So if it ****es you off that people want to learn and share in the learning
and share in the discovery of new knowledge, then get the **** out of here.

There isn't a single god damned thing on this group that the poster cannot
research throuhgba search engine. That benefits exactly nobody. I am
sorry that you never learned the value of sharing or mutually beneficial
environments.

It's called a "discussion group" for a reason, spazz. Get over it or get
out.

Paul

I find it unacceptable when people are too lazy to do even the most basic
research on their own before coming here for further details. No
high-quality teacher would put up with such laziness.

Did you ever have any teachers?
