Default Father's Day Dinner

Our neighborhood sponsored a concert in the park at the end of our
street tonight so we invited our children and a couple from work with
their two little girls.

Dinner consisted of:

smoked salmon on toasted baguette
cream cheese with hot pepper jelly and crackers
white bean spread with prosciutto and sage

Skewered chicken breast cubes with spice rub
tortellini salad (roasted red peppers, Vidalia onion, olives, peas,
vinaigrette)
fruit salad (cantaloupe balls, strawberries, blueberries)

orange crostata (from this month's "Real Simple") with vanilla ice cream
gingersnaps

sangria
lemonade
decaf iced green tea

No recipes for anything except the crostata, which was delicious but a
real calorie nightmare.

It was a lot of work but everyone really appreciated it.

The concert was interesting--two 15 and a 17 yr. old, two guitars and
drums. Two of our party were musicians and they were amazed at the skill
level. The mostly 70's rock wasn't my favorite, but as my daughter
said, they played it extremely well and, for high school musicians, it
could have been much worse!
