Default Steel Mesh Baskets

Hello
Does anyone know where we could purchase wire mesh type baskets that
can be used in large boiling pans?

Thanks

Boiling? Why on earth would you need baskets for boiling? Deep frying,
perhaps. That would be "boiling in oil", in which case I would recommend an
Asian market.

Why not? Makes it easy to lift out the pasta, potatoes, whatever and leave
the hot water behind, especially if you are making a second batch. Good for
making applesauce too. We have one for our Farberware 12 quart pot and use
it often.

I don't make applesauce, but for boiled potatoes I use a strainer, not a
mesh basket. Other veggies are steamed if they aren't grilled or broiled.
And I have a pot for pasta with a built-in strainer lid (got it at Bed Bath
& Beyond for about $10). I still don't see the need for mesh baskets in
everyday cooking. The only time I've seen them employed regularly is when a
wok is used for deep frying. And I don't deep fry food.

You don't see the need, yet you perform the same tasks with a similar tool.
OK, I understand.

Any kitchen supplies store should have the type that are used with
deep fryers. Such as these at Surfa's:

If you need something different, perhaps you could be more specific.

Obviously you're in the UK, but still any commissary supply emporium
will have what you want.

Thanks for the advice, I will try the 2 links posted and see where I
get. I get a lot of requests from shell fishing companies and most are
using old ones from boiling pans no longer being made.

In my experience steel mesh is more difficult to clean
than strainers made of perforated sheet metal. YMMV.
