I just got a bread machine and noticed a few recipes that have been posted
from The Bread Machine Cookbook by Donna German. My MIL just gave me that book today! If anyone used to have it, lost it or needs me to look a recipe up, give me a holler. It's got recipes for more kinds of bread than I've ever heard of. :~) kili |

Also, is there a recipe for bread machine coffee cake? I would love to have one, as it is harder without the machine. (Arthritis) Thank you |

There was an interesting recipe that was gluten-free for the ABM posted by a reviewer. It looks promising and I'm going to try it. My SIL can't have gluten and hates the storebought varieties of GF bread, says they all taste like cardboard. So I'll see if this is a might tastier as homemade bread is usually tastier. Again, thanks to you I've got a new recipe :-) Melondy |

I would love > to have one, > as it is harder without the machine. (Arthritis) > Thank you Sure! ------------------------------------------- CRUSTY PIZZA DOUGH The Bread Machine Cookbook by Donna Rathmell German This will make a small 14" pizza. INGREDIENTS: 2/3 cup water 1 1/4 tsp. olive oil 1/3 tsp. salt 1 cup all purpose flour 1 cup whole wheat flour 1 tsp. yeast Roll dough into rectangle or circle, depending upon pan to be used. Place on pan and turn excess under, forming a crust on the side. Brush very lightly with olive oil. Cover and let rise about 30 minutes. Top with pizza sauce and desired toppings. Place in a cold oven, turn temperature up to 450 degrees and bake until crust is brown and cheese is melted, 30 to 45 minutes. OPTION: Add 1/3 cup of mozzarella cheese to the mix for interesting taste and texture. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- CINNAMON ROLLS The Bread Machine Cookbook by Donna Rathmell German These rolls are very good and are not overly sweet. About 2/3 of the testers liked them as is; the others wanted them sweeter. If you want a sweeter bun, make a glaze out of milk and powdered sugar to spread over the top while still warm. Makes 9 rolls INGREDIENTS: 2/3 cup milk 1 1/4 tbs. butter 1 egg 1 1/3 tbs. sugar 1/3 tsp. salt 2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp. yeast FILLING: Mix together: 2 1/2 tbs. sugar 1 tbs. cinnamon 1/3 cup raisins (optional) FOR BRUSHING: 1 1/4 tbs. melted butter Roll dough into a rectangle, brush with melted butter and spread the cinnamon mixture over that. Roll dough as a jellyroll and cut into slices of approximately 1 1/2" width. Place in a muffin tin, cover and let rise about 35 to 40 minutes. Brush top lightly with melted butter if desired. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. ------------------------------------------------ Unfortunately, she doesn't include coffee cake, but a spiced coffee bread or a Lithuanian coffee bread. If you want those, I can get them to you. kili |
