I just read that Don Ho is dead. He was a legend from my
childhood.... and brought fond memories of Hawaii to me.

I seem to remember Dean Martin singing this, is that my imagination?

I remember Don Ho from my early childhood, as a guest on one of
those variety shows like Ed Sullivan or the Carol Burnett Show.
Along with Topo Gigio and the Beatle's first appearance! And my
dad grumbling about those longhaired commie pinkos.

A lot of crooners sang it. Don Ho was Hawaii's best known crooner.

Why is something like this even posted to this group? Take it to alt.gossip
celebrities, it's being discussed over there. We don't need your lame
"memories" of Topo Gigio or whatever...

It's still another reason why you and "L", cyberFLOP, are widely regarded as
"garbage posters"...

Just because some of you women get all over - emotional over evey tiny thing
doesn't mean it's fodder for this newsgroup. Posting this "news" item is
just as nonsensical as "L" dragging the "news" in here about her brother -
in - law that cacked (she didn't even have the courtesy to mark it OT) or
the "Joke of the Day", etc...

You have a bigger problem than I do Greggypoop. I'm a garbage poster,
yet you *still* read me? Learn to use a kill file if I **** you off
so much.

Cyber, -L, let's hold hands and sing Kumbaya.
All together now:

Greg is crying, Lord, kumbaya
Oh, Lord
When will he stuff a sock in it?

Then, why the hell are you feeding the thread? If you don't like it,
don't read it. Now, I'll go try to practice what I preach... although
I liked Don Ho. Another old time Polynesian singer I enjoyed is Ernie
Menehune. Not as well known, perhaps, but he lives in Tucson and I
have met him personally in years past.

Consider the source. He never makes negative comments about other
dead celebrity threads (which are abundant here). Only that one.

I was watching some crime show and it featured some kiddie perv who would
put honey on his erect penis and then entice little kids to "lick the sweet
lollipop"...something to pass along to your Mandingo hubby so as to try with
that chimpanzee son of yours.

:-D

Oh my gosh! I hadn't heard, thanks for the update. My favorite song of his
was "Who was the lolo who stole my pakalolo?"

He was a legend here indeed. People always said how nice he was all
through the years. He went for some odd medical treatment to Thailand
last year, something like injecting new (stem?) cells into his heart,
but I guess it did not work. Sad.

His gravely voice singing Tiny Bubbles will always be remembered
fondly.
