Madame Margaret Suran has informed me that, in spite of two posts I've
made on the subject, I "have not really extended a blanket invitation"
to attend a brunch at her home on Manhattan Island in New York State on
Saturday, December 6.

You're invited. Bring your own blanket.
Please let her know if you can come. (As said before, I'm just her
lackey.)
The food is terrific!
Sheryl, Jack, Michael (all the way from St. Louis), Stan, boron, Curly
Sue have accepted her kind invitation (posted by her lackey).
You should come. And I was kidding about bringing a blanket.

That's better, Barbara. Now let's hear from some of the ones who
claimed they would come "the next time" and others who missed last
year's party. This is The Next Time.

I have already purchased the wine!!! A case of Mondavi Pinot Noir and
several bottles of Mondavi Fume Blanc. Now come and help me drink it on
December 6th.

Thank you, MS

Oh, but don't I wish. Sigh.
I'm down here in Florida with no available funds and no vacation time. I've
only been to NYC once, and NY the State twice...
And NEVER in the presence of Good Cooks, Good Food and Good Friends all rolled
up in one.
I hope everyone has a grand time and enjoys the occasion.

Connie, Some other time perhaps.

Everything we served last year was store bought, it was not a cook in
or anything like that. I live in a tiny NYC apartment and my kitchen is
so tiny, only one person at a time can be in it.

It will be the same this year. However, the company could not have
been better.

Thank you for wanting to join us. MS

Don't feel too bad about not being able to make it. At least you have
the excuse of living in a different state... I'm here in Buffalo, NY -
a mere 6-8 hour drive from NYC (depending on how seriously you take
the speed limit), and I have neither the time nor the funding to make
it either - though it does sound like fun...

I, too, hope everyone who *can* make it has a wonderful time.

She's been living there for <scratches head> about 14-15 months.
Hubby's working on his doctorate there.

I am sorry. It would have been nice. There is always another occasion,
so let's look forward to that one.

Yup. It's me.

The hubby got into Graduate School at SUNY-Buffalo, so he packed up
and moved east. A year later when I finished my schooling, I packed up
and moved out here too. That was last July. So I've been here a bit
over a year, and he's been here a bit over two years. I haven't been
in this newsgroup very regularly since we moved until just the past
month or so. I briefly debated wading through the 50,000 unread
posts, but then I came to my senses, deleted them all, and started
over.

I still visit Minneapolis regularly (since most of my family and
friends are there), but the driver's license now says New York.

In another 3 years or so, he'll graduate, and we'll move somewhere
else. As soon as I know where, I'll let everyone else know....

I'll be back home again for the week between Christmas and New Year's
