I had some rather boring smoked deer sausage that was given to me (she did not care for it either) so I fried that up, spiced it up a bit with extra garlic, paprika, chili powder and a smidge of celery seed then added eggs and mozarella cheese to make a fritatta. It was not bad at all. :-) -- Peace, Om Remove _ to validate e-mails. "My mother never saw the irony in calling me a Son of a bitch" -- Jack Nicholson |

Om, the Fannie Farmer punkin bread recipe with brown sugar instead of white and whole wheat flour is REALLY good. I mean REALLY good. It's carby, but has lots of fiber. Only oil is olive oil. Lots of beta carotene. You could use Splenda to cut back on the simple carbs. |

Raw veggies and colitis do NOT mix! (Just trust me on this one, or sit next to my bathroom door sometime.) <g> kili |

I'd rather just buy the damned things. noooo, can you put chewy (not quite crispy, but almost) bacon in the food processor? That might work.. otherwise, sounds like.. 1. use a chop knife 2. Hormel makes good meaty bits Or OM! LMAO whoever said bacon has to be in bits baby... just put the slices on you salad. heh heh It's like.. for smoking.. if they made a cigarette as long as my.. arm! would I smoke the whole thing? Try bacon pieces, not bits. I like your frugalness, but I buy precooked bacon. Time you cook raw bacon.. you know... what the hell is one more dollar! |

You need to try some from one of the local processors... I swear that guy knows _squat_ about mixing sausage spice! It's so boooooring but I can still use it. Meat is meat. :-) I can add what I need to make it tastier! > > Om, the Fannie Farmer punkin bread recipe with brown sugar instead of white > and whole wheat flour is REALLY good. I mean REALLY good. I have a small food chopper and intend to try it. I have a package of bacon thawing in the 'frige. If it works out, I'll post jpegs. ;-) > > 1. use a chop knife > 2. True... there is always that. :-) And cooked bacon keeps for a few days or freezes well. Now there is a thought... Freeze some cooked bacon strips then take a kitchen mallet to them while frozen! <lol> > > heh heh > > It's like.. for smoking.. if they made a cigarette as long as my.. > arm! would I smoke the whole thing? > > Try bacon pieces, not bits. > > I like your frugalness, but I buy precooked bacon. > Time you cook raw bacon.. you know... > what the hell is one more dollar! I deep fry it. Takes less than 3 minutes and does not make grease splatters on my stove. -- Peace, Om Remove _ to validate e-mails.
