Prion Proteins Found In Milk !!!
Quoting from:
http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/st...007/0004519826 From a consumer standpoint, milk and milk products were regarded as safe up till now. But this situation could change, since a team of scientists from the biotechnology firm Alicon AG, headquartered at Schlieren in Canton Zurich, has managed for the first time to detect prion proteins in the milk of human beings, cows, sheep, and goats. Using Alicon's new technology, prion proteins were even found in homogenized and pasteurized milk on supermarket shelves, as reported recently in the international science journal Public Library of Science (PLoS ONE)(1). |

In fact, I use powdered nondairy creamer in my coffee. For some reason, milk always has a "soured" edge on it, to me. On the other hand I love cheese, sourcream, and yogurt. |

Well, if you're going to go on about it, at least go back to the source article, which was published last December: http://www.plosone.org/article/fetch...e.0000071#n101 Alicon, but golly, just so happens to manufacture not only a test to detect prion proteins, but the "Alicon PrioTrap® can also be applied for elimination of prion protein from milk." Gosh, surprise, a means of removing those very same proteins. It is an interesting discovery certainly, and also one which, IF it proves true AND relevant to TSE and BSE and vCJ detection, might make the company quite wealthy. Boron |
