Two for the Price of One.

I saw my ACME market weekly circular on-line and hit the jackpot! A slew of
buy one/get one free sales. Lots of good 50% off prices and other "card"
prices.

Many discounts were actually on my favorite products.

Finally I saved money at the supermarket. YAY!

I actually had to re-arrange the freezer. That's never happened before. The
ice machine drawer is now full of frozen veggies. I also threw out some old
frostbitten stuff. I stopped to wonder "where did all these cans of
lemonade come from?"

The fridge in the basement is back on. First time in awhile!

It felt like stealing! :)

There you go. It is worth perusing the circular! And, for reasons I'm not
clear on, when your favorite stuff is on sale, all your favorite stuff is.
Next
week maybe nothing much at all.

Congratulations on your score.

I studied the circular all morning. One product I found was:

All Purpose Acme Russet Potatoes

Do you bake them, mash them or Mr. Potato Head them? (grin)

Thanks,

Andy

Those potatoes are more for baking, and mashing also works. They tend
to fall apart much more easily, so they work in things that need that
quality.
Also good for french fries, I think.

It may be hard to believe but Russets make a decent potato salad. The
edges aren't as defined as red or Yukon Gold. The taste of the potato is
mealy compared to the other two. But since I grew up with that potato,
boiled Russets with mayo, mustard, pickles, eggs and your choice of
seasoning make an adequate old fashioned potato salad. Making a potato
salad is a fine way to dispose of a bunch of potatoes providing there
are enough people to eat it over a few days.
I'd prefer to bake, mash or french fry Russets. They're made for that.
