Thyme or oregano would work better. So would Rosemary if you wanted it
taller, altho' there is "prostrate rosemary" at my local nursery for
lower ground cover. :-)

You'e absolutely right. Rosemary would make a decent ground cover
that smells good when you walk through it.

Mint likes lots of water and shade, so if you have a leaky water pump
on your property, plant a few around it and put a shade over the area
you want the mint to grow.
