Default hot pickles

Vlasic used to make pickles with Tabasco. They were so good. Much
better on sandwiches than plain pickles. I am told Vlasic doesn't make
those anymore and I don't see any other brand that does. I am thinking
I could buy dills and add my own Tabasco or chiles. Any suggestions?

There is a company in PA that makes great hot pickles (in fact all of
their pickled products are much better than the bigger name brands). The
company is Bell View ( http://www.bellview.com ) . I usually buy the
cucumber chips and one day by accident I bought the "hot and sweet"
version. They are fantastic and I think I have about 20 people hooked on
them after they tasted them. They also have a "hot & garlic kosher"
pickle too. I don't know how widely they are distributed but I noticed
they have an online store.

I remember those!! Been looking for them ever since! Sorry to hear
they're off the market, guess I'll have to do my own now.

I went on Vlasic's web site and those pickles are still featured. Let's
e mail Vlasic and find out why and tell them we miss the pickles.

I went to their site, no spicy pickles. What site were you looking at?

Add hot peppers and let them sit for a couple days to a week. You could
add garlic, too. Hot yellow banana peppers, jalapeños, your call. Go
for it.

I get it. You are talking about the spicy dills. I was talking about
the spicy sweet pickles.

One local Kroger's carries them (or at least they did this past summer.)
They were called something like Vlassic ZESTY Bread and Butter Pickles.
I wanted to tell you the exact name but, as usual, my husband finished
off the jar almost as soon as it hit the refrigerator (and he doesn't
even LIKE sweet pickles!)

I just throw in 2 or 3 of those little dried hot red peppers and let
them sit for a few days. I'm sure dried red pepper flakes would work
just fine also. It's worth trying adding some Tabasco sauce. I don't
know what it would do to the color.

Try to find Tony Packo's Pickles and Peppers and Tony Packo's Sweet Hots.
They're spicy but not blazing hot. I love 'em. So do my kids.

I found the spicy b&b pickles, Sat at King Soopers! They haven't been
there for a long time, at least not the times I looked.

As for Tobasco dills, that sounds good, but for those, all you need to
do is buy a bottle of dills and a bottle of Tobasco. Voila! Tobasco
dills! I'll definitely try it. All I need to buy is the dills.
