I know it's an overdose but twice per day (WITH FOOD!) for severe sciatica makes me able to walk again....... Otherwise, I can't work. Ibuprofen is a true gift from the gods. You start to wonder after awhile, you know? The surgeon has told Crash's primary physician that he needs constant pain control. I guess the shaft they stick down the thigh bone shifts very slightly when Crash stands up, causing pain inside the bone. I understand that this should get better at some point. The good news is, he's finally agreed to intense physical therapy. Plus, the shaft that fits down into the femur should not be shifting: if it is, it was not fitted properly. It should be an extremely tight fit, with no room for movement. My Mother's SO had hip replacement surgery (I'm thinking about 10 years ago) and he's been a dynamo ever since. Medicine is a short term solution for unbearable pain. It's not a way of life.
