Well, I guess if you don't care if it's the best then I guess it would
be okay. The labels really should say something like "Do not consume
after such and such a date."

I'd use it. Before they started printed "best by" dates on things, I
don't think most people got too bent out of shape over how many years
the can of soup had been in the cupboard. If the can isn't dented,
rusted, or swollen, bon apetit!

But that's just me.
