Default Hot Pockets Deli-Style?

Okay, I thought it was enough with the pre-made hot dogs and peanut butter
and jelly sandwiches, but Hot Pockets is selling a deli style, thinly sliced
meat sub that goes from the freezer to the microwave. Who would that even
appeal to?

If I'm that desperate for a sub and I don't have my own ingredients to make
a sandwich, I'll just go to a Publix grocery store deli and order one.
(Publix, I know it's not a national chain, but it's a chain here in the
south, makes a mean sub! WAY better than Subway. Cheaper, too!)

I just don't get the idea of a frozen sub sandwich with no lettuce, tomato,
onion, pickles, peppers, or anything but a dressing and meat encased in
bread. Ugh. When will this nightmare of processed food end?

Hey kili, why not just make "hot pockets" and freeze em
yourself? You must have all kinds of cool BBQ ingredients
at your house.

Stuff them with pulled pork, brisket, etc.

I have tried the Philly cheese steak Hot Pockets. They are not bad. I
used to bring a box or two of those to work and if the weather was too
cold to go out for lunch, I would eat one of the two that come in the
box and leave the second for another lunch. I don't do that now only
because they are way too fattening.

LOL, Reg. I don't think we've used our WSM in at least a year. Besides, I
don't care for BBQ meat, to be honest. I'll take a plate full of peas, any
day, over pulled pork or brisket. :~)

Or the local BP Station. Not that I've ever done anything that crude.

I don't eat deli sandwiches, especially not frozen ones!. I do,
however, eat Lean Cuisine's chicken, mushroom and spinach panini. It
is delicious! I don't think it's available everywhere as we are a test
market. It's the only frozen food item I currently buy.

Kili? Is WSM the Webber Smoky Mountain R2D2 lookin' smoker?

I'll take that badboy offa' your hands if'n you'd like......

I used one a few weeks back and it's like the crock pot of smokers. Stuff
went in at 10:30pm at 250 and when we added more charcoal at 7:00am it was
only 235. Damn, that was a good brisket, good shoulders and a good turkey
later on that day.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm, now I just have to get one for me so that I don't have to
"borrow" this one!

It appeals to people with latch key kids who come home and want to
snack on...and parents who don't want the kitchen trashed.

That's the one. The hubby loves BBQ, but I'm not allowed to eat meat
anymore so we don't use it much. It was a wedding present to us from some
dear friends of ours in Georgia. Wish I could give it to you, but the DH is
rather attached. :~)
