How long is this chilli good for

I had some chilli that was in the freezer for a week or two and I thawed it
out on Friday of last week. Was wondering how long to expect it to stay
good. It has that chilli smell so it's hard to determine when the meat turns
bad? The meat was fully cooked when we put it in the freezer.

Thanks

Do you mean after it's thawed?

I assume you kept it covered in the refrigerator after thawing it out, so I'd
say it's perfectly ok. Just re-cook (not re-heat) by adding some water to
preserve the consistency, bring to a simmer and let it go about 10 minutes
covered.

Lots of folks throw out perfectly good food just because it's been sitting in
the fridge a while. Assuming you don't have immune system problems the worst
you'll get is the trots.

You froze a cooked meal (fine) and thawed it in the fridge (fine) but
then you left it there for a week? Ergh... toss it! I'll only keep
cooked food in the fridge for a maximum of 5 days, and if it's been
cooked, cooled, frozen, thawed, reheated, and cooled again (ie. it's
leftover leftovers) then I wouldn't keep it at all. It's had too many
chances for the bacteria to breed... freezing doesn't kill the germs -
it just puts them into hibernation, and they can start growing again
once the food is thawed.
