This is a bit high in carbs but the protein equals the carb load so it's
fairly healthy,

huh? You do know that you can convert about half the protein in a meal into
carbs, in the right circumstances? I don't see how that statement hangs
together at all!

Nicky.

It's 19g total carbs w/ 4g as fiber. Net is 15.
Total protein is 19g so you get a reasonable amount of protein in the meal.

Any food can be converted to carbs if you go into the right metabolic state,
especially fats.
So, if fats are acceptable in a diabetic diet then protein must also be
acceptable.

Sorry Pete - that's a new concept to me. Would you like to
expand on that?

You may like to do some research before answering. Or define
the "right metabolic state".

As you enter a state of starvation your body begins to utilize it's fat
stores.

True, but that's not converting foods to carbs.

not for me. 15 net carbs and i would probably be very low before my next
meal possibly live dump.
for the diet I try to be on it would be around 45 carbs 15 from fruit 15
from whole grains and 15 from
veggies like carrots and some low carb veggies. if im looking to pig out 15
carbs is a lot of brocolli
meat would be about the size of a deck of cards - a serving of fat could be
a few olives - almonds - avocado.
