Baja Corn Tortillas
I saw a previous discussion about tortillas and wanted to mention the
tortillas that I have found at my local Wal-Mart. The brand is Baja. They are marketed as "Low In Fat" White Corn Tortillas. We really like them. Here's the info: Serving Size: 2 Tortillas Servings per container: 6 Amount Per Serving Calories 50 Calories from Fat 10 % Daily Value Total Fat 1 g 2% Saturated Fat 0g 1% Cholesterol 0 mg 0% Sodium 5 mg 0% Total Carbohydrates 9g 3% Dietary Fiber 2g 8% Sugars 0g Protein 1 g Remember, this is for two tortillas! They are the small, taco-sized tortillas and they fry up very nice with just a little oil, or you can heat them in the microwave between a damp paper towel and they come out okay as well. We eat these with steak, chicken or pork, refried beans, salsa, cheese and (sometimes) grilled onions and/or peppers. Two of them are quite filling and make for a hearty lunch or main course at dinner time. They are very easy to prepare. We are lucky enough to get to come home for lunch and can fix these in just a few minutes for a wonderful hot meal. |
