A-1-C ....5.8
Gastric Sleeve performed on 8/8 As of right now....(2 mos later) A-1 C is now 5.8 Lost 30 lbs (on my Drs scale) so far. My shoes are getting loose, rings are getting loose. Leg swelling gone. Doc is reducing my blood pressure meds. No more insulin, just one Januvia every day. Energy is good, and I eat all real food, small quantities. If I go to a restaurant, I order an appetizer and can't even finish it. :-) :-) :-) Wheeeeee hooooo! |

On't be too fast to buy new clothes, as you won't > need tht size for long. Before you know it you will be even smaller!!:-) The most I have ever lost is 30 pounds. But that put me at a good weight. I did look thin at that weight although technically I could have lost a few more. I did put off buying until my clothes would not stay on. For instance, I fell out of my bra. Not good! One thing I did learn that has to fit right is a nightgown. When I was pregnant with Angela I bought some regular gowns in larger sizes. I actually never got that big. What happened with the too big gowns was that when I turned over in bed, the back part of the gown stayed there in the bed. It didn't move with me. And then it ripped. My SIL said she had the same problem. |

I'm completely thrilled for you and i hope this continues for you!!!! I have to admit that i'm now at the 'seniors portion sizes' or 'children's portion sizes' only at restaurants Want to laugh? I asked if i could order from the Seniors menu as i could NOT eat the food offered on the 'regular' menu. I would save about 30% by getting the Sr's portion which is 1/2 the regular portion. I was informed that to order from the Sr's or children's menus i would need ID to prove my age. I smiled, and said 'obviously I don't qualify. thank you for your honesty' The next restaurant had NO trouble making more money off of me (do the maths above) and letting me buy the smaller portion! kate :D (who is their accountant?????????? or merchandising consultant?????????? what a twit!) |

My sister, who went through all this a while ago has saved all her various clothes on the way down. She has lost almost 100 lbs. and she had the Rouen-Y bypass. I had the gastric sleeve, in which only just the stomach itself is made smaller. One of the women in my support group has lost 145 lbs with the gastric sleeve surgery. She works out at a gym constantly though. My sister is sending me a huge box with all the (now) too large clothing for her, but will be just right for me now. Evelyn |

I order an appetizer of something I really like. Then I take the portion I can't eat home. I have occasionally ordered a regular portion, but I can't eat it all at one sitting. It could take me three meals to finish one regular restaurant portion of an entree, and even then the dog gets a bit of the leftovers. One restaurant we go to serves complete meals, salad, soup, entree and dessert as a part of the deal. I don't order anything. Hubby eats his salad, I eat his soup, and then he lets me have a bite or two of his entree and a single bite of his dessert. I can seldom eat even that. Evelyn |

the portions in so many restos are large enough that often dh and i order
one entree and an extra bowl of soup, then we share the main part of the meal, i am not a meat eater so a couple bites of that is fine, Lee "Tiger Lily" > wrote in message ... > On 10/11/2011 5:19 AM, Evelyn wrote: >> I order an appetizer of something I really like. no kidding, they would make more mney off of us if we could substitute more,
i am not a fan of french fries and most but not all places will substitute a vegetable for them, but those places that sub then charge an adittional for green beans rarely get repeat business from us, Lee "Tiger Lily" > wrote in message ... > On 10/12/2011 11:38 AM, Storrmmee wrote: >> especially if they would simply repeat those smaller portions in the part >> of >> the menu they called portion control or diet or something, Lee > > yes! and just because i watch my carbs doesn't mean i want cottage cheese > on a lettuce leaf with an artichoke for my meal! > > kate |

i have a friend who eats out often, i asked her why, the place she eats at
serves huge portions, she always brings her extras home and between her frig and the left overs she gets at leastwo or three meals out of one seven dollar entree, not bad, Lee "Tiger Lily" > wrote in message ... > On 10/12/2011 11:41 AM, Storrmmee wrote: >> the portions in so many restos are large enough that often dh and i order >> one entree and an extra bowl of soup, then we share the main part of the >> meal, i am not a meat eater so a couple bites of that is fine, Lee > > grin, Lee > > I'm there now :D > > kate |

Many of the restaurants here now order light portions. We usually order those. At one place Angela will order the full meal and a box so she can take some home for another meal. |

oh, i give up on that and order the salad instead of the fries
but............. that is usually a caesar salad i'm going to be wicked and ask for the "chef's salad" and ask how much that would be??? if i don't like that answer, i'll ask for the greek salad (no bell pepppers) lol thanks for the idea lol kate On 10/12/2011 1:40 PM, Storrmmee wrote: > no kidding, they would make more mney off of us if we could substitute more, > i am not a fan of french fries and most but not all places will substitute a > vegetable for them, but those places that sub then charge an adittional for > green beans rarely get repeat business from us, Lee > "Tiger > wrote in message > ... >> On 10/12/2011 11:38 AM, Storrmmee wrote: >>> especially if they would simply repeat those smaller portions in the part >>> of >>> the menu they called portion control or diet or something, Lee >> >> yes! and just because i watch my carbs doesn't mean i want cottage cheese >> on a lettuce leaf with an artichoke for my meal! >> >> kate > > |
