Menu for diarrhea?

Frozen ones give me nightmares! My mom loved them and frequently served
them as dessert. We each got a custard cup full of them, straight from the
freezer. She would eat them and get her teeth all blueberry-y and then
insist that we take a walk up to the store. There she would grin at people
with her purple teeth. As a child there was not much worse than that, that
I could think of. Sometimes I think she just did it because she knew how
mortified I was of it.

No. The family practitioner said she didn't think it was the cause so not
to stop it. The ER Dr. said to cut back to 500 for a few days and then
restart it again at 1,000. If it starts again to call the Endo. I am
thinking perhaps she can still get benefits even if she is not on the
maximum dose. But I could be wrong.

Except that the ER Dr. told her to lay off of the caffeine. Are there
tannins in grapes? She has some small packages of apple slices and grapes.
Very few grapes in each one though. Maybe 3 or 4.

I used to have it a lot, it was one of the allowed sauces along with
Worcestershire sauces at Weight Watchers. I had it on steak, sausages,
chops, meatballs/rissoles - anything red really.

If there is I would imagine grapes are contraindicated for diarrhoea so
it would defeat the purpose? I don't think there is much caffeine in tea
and I doubt Angela likes it really strong?

great with steak n eggs, many meats & meat dishes............ i prefer
using HP in a meatloaf mixed with the ketchup rather than all ketchup
and stuff

i prefer HOT seasonings, but this is an addition to the flavours

bbq sauce is so different bottle to bottle that if you are interested it
would take a long time to find the right one, i prefer what my father makes

Nope. Not interesting. I find sauces to be messy and don't like most of
them.

messy is definitely a detractor no matter the taste, with my father's that
is one of the draws, he would make it up, it went on the back of the grill
to keep warm, he mopped meat at the end to just give it a crispy glase so
not that messy, then burgers/hotdogs went in the sauce to stay warm... those
weren't that messy because they were with a bun, but now days it would be
for me as i eat less bread in general, Lee

I used to know someone who ate potato crisps and ice cream must have

I had a look at one green tea at the supermarket this afternoon, just
out of curiosity. It said it was 100% green tea and was very low in
caffeine. Wasn't a decaffeinated one.

I don't know how much is in there. Just knew it was some.

We have found one problem. The ph of her saliva is 6.5 as it should be.
But her urine is 9.0 which is as high as it gets. So she is secreting a LOT
of acid. Now what that means...I don't know. But this paper the naturopath
gave us said the urine should always be lower. Mine was when I did this
test. Hers is not. We will go back this afternoon and find out.

Meanwhile I got a new (to me) med called Nauzene. They are chewable tablets
and are an antacid that also seems to have a numbing affect. She slept
right away after I gave her those.

So buy her some decaf green tea.

I've never seen that. She will only drink the sweetened kind in a bottle.
They do make diet but AFAIK not decaf.

I've had alternating diarrhea and constipation, and found that for
that combination, increasing the fiber in the diet is best.

I've used Metamucil powder (made from psyllium) and also Citrucel
powder (made from oranges). Found in pharmacies, over the counter.

I usually keep some high-fiber rye crackers handy for times when
I run short of those. I prefer Ry Krisp brand, but Wasa brand
also works.

With Angela's allergies, she probably won't be able to use all
of these.

Sounds much like the stomach problems that, combined with frequent
coughing, led to me not using metformin any more.

I don't think Metamucil is recommended for anyone.

I discussed this with my endo once, as someone has mentined that taking
metamucil or similar fiber stuff actually heped people with both
constipation and the "dire rear." He said he couldn't explain why, but
that it worked. I don't know if someone should start it in the midst of a
bout, but that might be OK. I would ask her doc.

I have had good luck with citrucel for alternating problems, but
cooked peeled and sliced apple, which I microwave till it is tender
works wonders too.

Wendy, when I worked in nursing home, residents with impacted faeces
actually had some diarhoea as well. They had to be manually helped with
the impact problem but Metamucil was used as well to normalise.
