In praise of celery!

I am glad Angela now likes celery. She liked it when she was small but then
didn't like it for years. Now she likes it again. She just asked me how
much was a serving? I was happy to say as much as she wanted. I think it
and lettuce are some of the few foods that are so low in carbs and calories
you can truly eat a lot of them. Now I just hope she leaves me some...

I love celery, but only if it's peeled.

I only recently saw to peel it. I probably should eat it that way though.

My father used to joke that celery was the only food that really helped
you loose weight. It maintained tht it took more calories to chew it than
the celery contained:-)

In praise of celery!

in general i have no trouble and enjoy celery when cooked, raw howver is a
different story, if i am hungry it tastes wonderful, if i am not hungry it
almost gags me... not sure why this is, but it is true, so when iwant to eat
but am not sure if i am hungry/bored/stressed, i can eat a stalk and find
out, Lee

Apium graveolens is a plant species in the family Apiaceae commonly known as celery (var. dulce) or celeriac (var. rapaceum), depending on whether the petioles (stalks) or roots are eaten: celery refers to the former and celeriac to the latter. Apium graveolens grows to 1 m tall. The leaves are pinnate to bipinnate leaves with rhombic leaflets 3–6 cm long and 2–4 cm broad. The flowers are creamy-white, 2–3 mm diameter, produced in dense compound umbels. The seeds are broad ovoid to globose, 1.5–2 mm long and wide.
