Xylitol Advice Needed
 

OK, everybody. I have just found that I cn get both Stevia and xylitol to
use for the passover holiday, not just saccharine. I woud like to try
some meringues of maccaroons for my enjoyment and for my diabtic and
dieting kids for the Seder.

I don't remember from earlier discussion, but would xylitol or a mixture
of xylitot and, perhaps, Stevia work for this kind of food? usan, I
believe you and, perhaps Krom are thos most experienced in using these
products(as least the xylitol) it is a stomach acher like the other
"tols" or do I remember correctlythat it is not? Do you substitute it cup
for cup with sugar or in some other proportions?

Any help you can send woud lbe appreciated, as I want to get a amil order
in proptly so I can have it before the holiday is all over:-)

Xylitol Advice Needed
 

xylitol is one of the "tols" that i have to be VERY careful with or I spend
the day on the potty...

I hate stevia..tastes like bitter dirt to me.

those store products like truvia are like one percent stevia and the rest
fillers and eyrithritol..so may as well cut the stevia out and go straight
erythritol

I personally make a blend when baking of 75 percent splenda..20 percent
eythritol and 5 percent xylitol

somebody doesn't know and, unfortunately, they love it.

That is true, and one should never let them have any, but dogs have to eat a
fairly substantial amount of chocolate to be harmed. Whereas apparently even
a tiny amount of "tol" will kill them or cause major organ damage.

In the old days, before people really knew, we always fed our dogs
everything we ate, but there was very little sugar free then.

I only feed my dog(s) veggies and meat, poultry, etc. Nothing that I don't
make. So far it's worked really well for them.

I knew some people who fed their dog chips, pretzels, all sorts of
spaghetti leftovers, etc. Then they wondered why the dogs shit all
over the place constantly. Brilliant.

We had neighbors who would just put their plates on the floor after dinner.
Their two dogs licked them clean. Eeek! I think they did give them dog
food as well. One of the dogs was dumb as dirt. Killed himself by eating
some broken Christmas ornaments out of the trash. Bled to death.

I feed my dog ground turkey meat which I buy and cook myself for him.
That is combined with Solid Gold Wolf King dog kibble, which is very
expensive and top quality. He's really healthy and does well on it.

Misty lived till 16. She ate a variety of food over the years including the
semi moist.

Towards the end she had liver problems. Ate a prescription food for awhile
but then wouldn't even eat that. Vet said to feed her whatever she wanted.
She lived with my parents but I would go over there after work and cook for
her. Mainly scrambled eggs and finely minced steak. That was what she
preferred.

I've read that dogs have rather short digestive tracts, and
therefore can't handle foods that digest slowly very well.
They can handle meats better.
