BG Meter

Ok, many of you have been a huge help to me.

I am in the process of getting a meter, but would like to know, does
this meter measure plasma or whole blood glucose?

Thanks.

that depends :)

on which meter you buy, and even which country you live in

when buying the meter, ask, and if they cannot tell you, find another store!

i use the LifeScan One-Touch Ultra 2 meter, i'm in Canada, and my meter
gives 'plasma calibrated results'

essentially, 'plasma calibrated results' add 12% or 15% to your bg level
to mimic 'plasma results'

obviously, no meter uses plasma only, so all meters showing plasma
results are 'calibrated' to do that

post over on alt.support.diabetes as there are more folks over there
(can be a bit rowdy, but you'll get more replies)
