Default Lupus and diebetes

Few months ago I read an article in the Sunday paper, that some times there
is a connection between lupus and diabetes. Some people, who has diabetes or
liver, kidney problem, the underlying cause is lupus. Doctors have
difficulty detecting it for sure. This immune disease, can attack internal
organs, like liver or pancreas.
Any one has more info on this.
My sister have lupus and I'm Type II.

I don't think lupus is hard to detect. They do have a blood test for it.
