Default Corning Ware with Pop-In

I'm looking for a small covered casserole dish. The ones I have are too
large for a single guy. I see CorningWare has these things with plastic
lids called Pop-Ins. Can the plastic lid really take being in a 400
degree oven? Or is it just meant for the microwave?

Anybody have other sources for small covered baking or casserole dishes?

Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by small and no idea what your budget is but Le
Crueset has a real small casserole which happens to be pretty cheap at
amazon:

They also have a baker set (no lids) which is a 1 1/4 qt plus a 16 ounce:

I wouldn't put a plastic lid in a 400 deg oven.

If you have a TJ Max nearby you might want to take a trip thru there -- they
tend to have casseroles and baking dishes -- frequently from well known
manufacturers -- at good prices. I have found some oddball sizes of things
there at good prices.

The plastic lids are for storage only. They MAY work in the microwave if
they aren't sealed on the dish. I just use some plastic wrap on mine in the
microwave.

You can find all sorts of covered casseroles and other ovenware at most
discount stores like K-Mart.

Where have you looked? The Corningware/Revere outlet stores usually
have dozens of sizes of casseroles. Many are located in Prime Outlet
Malls.

You can also look on eBay. But don't get caught up in bidding on the
really desirable collectibles.
