Slide-In Range and Backsplash

I am currently having a house built and have been looking at new
ranges. I really like the look and features of a slide-in range. Our
counter tops are going to have a ~4" backsplash against the wall and
the range is going to go in the middle of this (backsplash continues
on both sides of range).

My better half thinks this will look silly with the counter backsplash
ending, then a white wall and then beginning again. Does anyone have
any ideas for how I can remedy this? It is to late to change the
counter tops. What are the chances of getting someone to make me the
same counter top lip and hiding the seams, etc. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Depends on the material. If it's Corian then you should be able to have it
done. In our kitchen I am very impressed with the way they were able to
shape and join Corian so the joint is invisible.

I would put something behind the range like tile or stainless. Eventually
the wall will get dirty and you won't be able to scrub a painted wall
constantly. With the tile going from the counter to the upper cabinets the
break in the backsplash will look intentional. You could also just
eliminate the backsplash and tile the entire area.
