Why did Pyrex discontinue these?
Here's a picture from Froogle in compressed url form:
http://tinyurl.com/br8xv I'm not sure what to call them. They're small glass dishes with wonderful glass lids and they have tabs to hold onto. Anyone else here love these things, too? They are hard to find these days, and you have to live with the dated patterns on them (which is no problem), but it seems like Pyrex could make a haul on these. They're perfect for leftovers! All you can find nowadays are glass dishes with some awful plastic lids that warp, or discolor, or stain, or melt, or don't fit right, etc. And the new ones aren't good sizes for leftovers or don't have much for tabs to grab onto when hot. Should I lobby Pyrex to bring them back, or is there another company that makes these things? |

Take a look on eBay; just search for Pyrex. There's quite a few of them
and they're not that expensive. wrote: > Here's a picture from Froogle in compressed url form: > > http://tinyurl.com/br8xv > > I'm not sure what to call them. They're not transparent but I think they meet your criteria otherwise. They have a 15 oz capacity and come with a glass lid for use in the microwave and a snap-on plastic lid for storage. I just saw a pile of 'em in the hardware store this morning, so they shouldn't be hard to find. -- Bert Hyman St. Paul, MN |

Looks like the current production doesn't come with the glass lids, just plastic. -- Bert Hyman St. Paul, MN |

I find ovals to be difficult to serve from (looks messy, etc.) and I really prefer the square and rectangular ones but I've had no luck replacing the one that DH broke :-/ -- jmk in NC |
