48" DCS Range: 5 burner/26K BTU gridlle or 6 burner/18K BTU griddle

Can anyone help me understand the pro's/con's?

You can see them both at

It looks like things are kinda cramped with the 5 burners. Does the 26K BTU
griddle have advantages over the 18K?

Thanks, Doug

Hi Doug,

I can't get the link to work... but...

I have a six burner D.C.S. and am happy with it generally (except for
one issue):

The range top is not flat. It has a vent system at the rear that rises
perhaps an inch above the plane of the grates. When first looking at
the range top is looks like an acre of space but because of that vent,
the rear burners are extremely cramped. The problem is exacerbated by
the fact that the burners are very large, and so, require large
cookware. Again, at the rear, anything even slightly larger than the
diameter of the burner bumps against the vent. It is a serious problem
in my opinion.

All that said, I have no idea if the unit(s) you have under
consideration have the design that we find problematic.

All the best,
