Default Convection Oven

I have a convection oven. Lately I have a problem getting my food
done in the appropriate time frame. I put an oven thermometer in the
oven and check the temp. Seems like the temp is low but them
eventually it goes up to where it should be. I noticed that when
using convection cooking that the fan seldom runs. If I remember
correctly, when it was new the intermal fan ran a lot. Almost all the
time. How much should the internal fan run during convection
cooking?

Default Convection Oven

Hi, on almost all convection fan ovens the fan should run constantly.
Without this the heating element will heat the oven unevenly. There
are a few possible causes including a defective fan or possibly just a
bad conection. You will easily be able to see where it is due to the
vent holes in one of the oven panels. I would try taking the fan unit
our, cleaning the terminals and refitting. If you are a diy type
person this is a very easy job and even new fan units are cheap if you
check the net. Don't forget to turn off the power whilst trying
anything.

Best of luck

Thanks Stu,
I found a loose connection in the switch for the door. That seems to
have fixed it. The fan runs continuously now.
