30" slide in range - oven size

Just want to pass this infor along. Since my new oven has nice shiny
racks, porcelain covered I think the term is, I thought that I might
use the old 30" slide-in Jennaire racks to oven-clean the cast-iron
utensils - in case something went wrong. I've not used the
self-cleaning oven feature yet.

Much to my surprise, the racks didn't fit. The new oven is 3-1/2"
wider. I 'thought' it looked wider ....

Yes -- they're not even standardized within a single manufacturer's smooth-top
line.

I had bought new, porcelainized steel racks which were similarly too wide for my
old GE Profile smooth-top. I got lucky when I bought the new one, as the racks I
hadn't yet returned turned out to be made for that model. Now I have a dedicated
rack for the bakestone, plus two movable racks, and a spare in the garage. 8;)

Best stroke of luck of the last several years (other than waking up each
morning...)!

Oh, Oh, Oh! I want two dedicated racks for my stones (top and bottom;
and a spare. You ARE one lucky guy!
