When I have made instant coffee, I haven't noticed the difference between using boiling water and using water which has cooled a little. But I think it does make a difference with real coffee. boiling water?
Coffee extracts best at about 190-200 degrees fahrenheit. Boiling
water on the stove in a pot requires about a 30-second wait for my french press. My espresso machine is set at about 205. I dunno how long an enclosed tea kettle needs to wait, but surely it's ready sooner than 4-5 minutes. Instant coffee sucks. --Alan |
