Wine has flavonoids which prevent macular degeneration.
Beer doesn't.
Macular degeneration is bad.

There's no cancer in cigarettes either.

Dark beer has flavonoids. Beer has no fat in it. Drink enough of it and
it can *make* you fat; however, so will wine or even carrot sticks if
taken in large enough amounts. The culprit is CALORIES.

'Nuff said.

IIRC, celery is a dead loss. It take more energy to chew and digest than
it provides in calories.

Those are all facts. They say nothing whatsoever about
whether wine or beer is more healthy.

I believe that pete is completely correct on this point. I very much
doubt that the stewards of the cigarette industry would allow any
cancerous tobacco or other cancerous tissues to be present in their very
fine, safe and therapeutic product.

Well it would take a _lot_ of carrot sticks to make up for a carton of beer,
but me and my baby buddah beer gut thinks that the facts could be right in
this case.

Dammit I remember when I used to tell other people about body shaping
exercise not need it myself.

Beer does, at least when it contains enough hops or darker malts. Your
usual six-pack of Bud Lite may not be of much help here, but a porter or
an IPA from your local micro may darn well be !

NONSENSE. Who would take that piece of advice, which is clearly the
biggest load of crap I've seen except for that one time the flushing
of my colon went a bit awry? And your reply, like my newly unfurled
sphincter, refuses to stop the flow and instead continues to trickle
out foecal sweat after the fact, leaving a sticky stain on the pants
of the newsgroup. And it's not the sticky stain on the front, which
is the GOOD kind of sticky, so don't think you've contributed a meal
full of delicious protein and benefited anyone. Sicko.

Taking that advice is like taking arsenic, although agreeing to take
it is wonderfully Shakespearian, so don't let me stop you. I may've
meant 'Darwinian', but I will be pimp-spanked if I 'check' my 'facts'
for you.

In actuality "Real Adults" drink beer and eat Hufu. But that's another
story.

Although it does lead to the next obvious question: What beer goes best
with Hufu?

I drink 7-35 drinks per week because it lowers my chance of heart
disease by 75%, then have 4 large coffees every day to lower the risk of
cirrhosis of the liver by 80%.

To me, it's no worse than people who take one medication for a problem,
then 3 other medications to take care of the side effects of the first one.

Is it the caffeine, or something else in coffee, that has that
benefit?

Probably anti-oxydents and flavoroils. My health care provider
(doctor-like person) was concerned because I was on a potential
liver damaging drug while reporting 2 drinks day -- I knew should
would double the dose I reported, so I divided it by four --
and I passed my liver function test with flying colors.

I also recommend lecithin, milk thistle, and eggs. I'd recommend
liver if it didn't taste like liver.

Just wondering whether some of it can be decaf or half-caf.

The process that removes the caffeine could well remove some other
chemicals, but I'd be surprised if it got all or most of the good
stuff. I'd expect freeze dried coffee to have less because most
industrial processes generally degrade nutrients, tomatos and
lycopene notwithstanding.

My speelchekker has noticed most of my lysdexia lately, but "should
would" should have been "she would". Doctors typically double the
amount of alcohol consumption reported -- if you say two beers a day,
they assume you have four. Therefore I joke that I divide by four,
though I more or less tell the truth depending on how I percieve my
self interest.

Kroger and Food Lion know about half of what I drink.

I didn't realize lecithin had any connective tissue to man-boobs.
It is an essential liver nutrient that helps it detox stuff, sorta
like whatever is in coffee. The eggs are for choline. I got lucky
on the coffee thang. I have wine with dinner, and beer for dessert.

How do freeze-dried tomatoes compare to sun-dried ones,
gastronomically speaking?

After I threw a parse error at you, I thought you might have been

I was thinking of soya lecithin. (Personally, I think the soya /
man-boobs connection is tenuous.)

Mmm, dessert.

Soya contains a vegetable form of estroegen - that's why it's
recommended to women going through menopause. Like
beer, it *can* cause "man-boobs".

Please post how much soy isoflavonoids are present in a typical
1200 mg soya lecithin capsule right he ________.

Soy oil is also devoid of them, but if you're egregiously paranoid
about your masculinity, you can find non-soy sources (expensive)
or eat eggs every day. And even if trace amounts are present,
the amount of soy product you are eating is miniscule.
