I remember when I was a member of Beer Drinkers of America. They always
talked about how much they raised the beer taxes percentage wise. One
year they raised the $5 member fee to $10, a 100% increase in fees. I
then quit BDOA. I think they were trying to incourage beer companies to
publish % alcohol on the labels. I read the Beer Alcohol Calories post
many years ago. it was an independent test. I took those figures
seriously when going out to drink, as you have to know your limit.
Current listing have different %'s. It seems some companies reporting
may be different from actual. I usually drink Bud Light when i'm out
drinking, because it had one of the lower contents, 3.5 %. From
drinking it and other beers, I still think that 3.5 % is correct.
Molsen light is haed to find as it was 2.5 %. I just wish there was
another independent test run.

My favorite beers have on average 10% abv.

There is no such thing as a German Trappist ale. HTH. HAND. All the
world's Trappist ales are currently brewed in Belgium and the
Netherlands. There are a small number of monastery beers in Germany,
but none of them are brewed by Trappist orders.

So you don't care for lambics, British pale ales and milds, IPAs,
classic Pilsners, Belgian witbiers and saisons, Bavarian hefeweizens and
bocks, Franconian Kellerbiers and Rauchbiers, Berliner Weisse, Irish
stouts, and Czech lagers?

Man. That's rough. I don't consider %alc/vol as a selection in
choosing my favorites. YMMobviouslyV.

Germany has Brewery with Monastery connections the Monks are not
trappist, probably Augustinian
