"Last Hurrah" Octoberfest @ Franconia Notch - 10/8 & 10/9
For those in the New England area: Just got this from John ... he's asking
that we all please spread the word. This is your last chance to see the brewery. ****ing Walgreens. -- FINAL OCTOBERFEST AT THE FRANCONIA NOTCH BREWERY! The Franconia Notch Brewery regrets to announce that we have been forced to close our doors later this month. Just three weeks ago, we were given notice to vacate the building which is to be bull-dozed along with a neighboring restaurant to make way for a Walgreens. We have been brewing day and night in order to stockpile enough beer to last through Springtime. We will continue delivering beer to all of our customers until then, by which time, we hope to have found, installed, and licensed a new facility. The final celebration at our brewery will be an Octoberfest - Sat & Sun, Oct 8 & 9 from 12:00 til 6:00. We're setting up the beer garden one last time, we'll have live music, games, prizes, and of course a variety of fresh award-winning beer. There is already a big buzz about this festival so it should be a memorable time and, despite the circumstances, should be lots of fun. We'll be pouring Grail Pale Ale, River Driver, the new 2005 Mountain Stout, Draft Mead, and hopefully Pumpkin Ale as well as cask-conditioned oak-whiskey-barrel-aged brown ale on the beer engine straight from the oak. Whether you're a regular or you have never been by, don't miss this last chance to enjoy an afternoon at this unique, home-spun, yet traditional real-ale brewery. We're located just off I-93 at exit 42 in Littleton, NH. Visit http://notchbrew.com for details. We really hope to see you there! -- Respect Beer. -- Todd Alström http://BeerAdvocate.com -- New England Beer Fest - October 29, 2005 http://beeradvocate.com/fests/ -- |
