That's just because God found turning water into beer too difficult. He can
be pretty petulant when things don't turn out. ;-)

I actually read one account where they think the Bible
was mistranslated (heaven forbid!). When Jesus turned water
to "wine" at that wedding feast in Cana it was actually beer.

And just in case anyone thinks there is no mention of beer in the Old
Testament, behold:

Numbers 21:16
And from thence they went to Beer: that is the well whereof the LORD
spake unto Moses, Gather the people together, and I will give them water.

Judges 9:21
And Jotham ran away, and fled, and went to Beer, and dwelt there, for
fear of Abimelech his brother.


Notice the capitalization of Beer. I think that speaks for itself.
