DEAL ALERT! - How to Get Weber Gas Grills around 20% off

Greetings All,

Sunday I bought a Weber Silver Genesis B from Home Depot for $499.
Monday, I found that Sears was running a sale online on the same model
for $449.99. I called Sears, got them to confirm that the price was the
same in store. What a lot of companies do is order products from the
manufacturers with "special" equipment. Specifically, this model has a
"home depot custom porcelain cooking grate." Sears has the same
"porcelain cooking grate." So its an identical match.

Home Depot matches prices and then beats them by 10%, so I got the
grill for a total of 404.99 retail from Home Depot as opposed to their
normal price of $499.99.

Behold the Power of the Price Match!

Here's the link to the sale on grills @ Sears:

Even the $450 price is an excellent deal, if the porcelain cooking grate is
cast iron. That made all the difference in the world for me; I went from a
disgruntled user to a contented user, especially for fish. The porcelain
cooking grate costs $55 at Home Depot when purchased separately. Consumers
Report just ranked gas grills, and gave the Genesis B high marks, though not
the best mid sized grill. It's hard to understand how the Silver A got the
best small grill award with only two burners while the very similar Silver B
gets less with three burners.

Hello....
What a GREAT lead!!
As soon as I read this, I went on to SEARS and copied the sale info,
confirmed that my local sears had the SILVER B in stock. My wife and I
went to the local Home depot, showed the copy of the ad, and in a
matter of minutes was the proud owner of my first WEBER---at the GREAT
price of $404.
I had been researching and comparing for about a month, and all places
had the same(about) price. So THANKS for saving me $100.
I'll use the savings to get some accessories ( cover, brush, smoke box,
etc).
Can't wait to use it!!
I'm replacing my Holland about 12 years old.
Thanks

I just purchased one from Sears. They wanted $59 for the cover so went
shopping and found amazon.com to me the cheapest on the covers. Forgot the
exact price but it was under $40. RM~

PS, Being a Sears retiree I did better ($) staying with the Sears sale.

The rotisserie is a nice addition, but it'd "eat" up your
savings.

Yeah, that's about what I paid. I find that it quite often pays to check
Amazon out when I purchase something. They are not always cheapest but are
quite often. Several months ago we purchased one of those Cuisinart electric
griddles. The cheapest I could find one locally was $129 plus tax. I checked
Amazon and got one delivered for $94. RM~
