Barbecue (alt.food.barbecue) Discuss barbecue and grilling--southern style "low and slow" smoking of ribs, shoulders and briskets, as well as direct heat grilling of everything from burgers to salmon to vegetables.

"Isn't man an amazing animal? He kills wildlife -- birds, kangaroos,
deer, all kinds of cats, coyotes, beavers, groundhogs, mice, foxes, and
dingoes -- by the millions in order to protect his domestic animals and
their feed. Then he kills domestic animals by the billions and eats
them. This in turn kills man by the millions, because eating all those
animals leads to degenerative and fatal health conditions like heart
disease, kidney disease, and cancer. So then man tortures and kills
millions more animals to look for cures for these diseases. Elsewhere,
millions of other human beings are being killed by hunger and
malnutrition because food they could eat is being used to fatten
domestic animals. Meanwhile, some people are dying of sad laughter at
the absurdity of man, who kills so easily and so violently and once a
year sends out a card praying for 'Peace on Earth'." C. David Coats

I reckon it worked. You were third in line.

I'll have to promote you accordingly on my goober list.

Actually, I think it's kind of funny to think that (at least in my case)
every time they post something like that, I reflexively chow down on
another hunk 'o charred bovine flesh and do my small part to keep the
meat business healthy. Just spreading the joy. I think I may buy some
new leathers for my motorcycle while I'm at it.

This doesn't amount to much 'cause the actors involved aren't
really vegetarians. They post their drivel to gain attention and
start flamewars. They don't actually give a shit what you eat.
Your reaction makes you a puppet at the end of their string.

ObBBQ: Rack of lamb with apricot stuffing, started in the
smoker. They get a coating of dijon mustard and breadcrumbs,
then they're finished in a hot oven.

Wow, that is amazing. I don't participate in all of that. I buy meat at
the supermarket, not from dead animals.
