BBQ a turkey aged in a deep-freezer

A turkey was sleeping in my deep freezer for more than a year :-)
Decided to wake him up over the past 2 days in refrigerator
temperature (4-8°C).
The bird is 3.5 kg so that is roughly 7 pounds.

My questions a
Will the meat still be edible?

Can I barbecue the bird on a Oklahoma Joe type barbecue?

Would it better to cut it in pieces rather than bbq the whole turkey
and what kind spices or marinade is suitable?

I would cherish any help on this.

That's a pretty small turkey. I've cooked heavier chickens:-)

If your freezer has been consistently at 0F, it should be just fine.

Should do.

Your choice, really. You can also spatchcock it.

Google up The Fat Man's brine or search for Alton Brown's turkey brine
on foodnetwork.com. I'd give it a day in either brine.

You can see freezer burn. Yes, it should be avoided.

OTOH, I've had meat properly wrapped and good as new after two years. Most
commercial wrapped meats are in very heavy material, oxygen free, and can
be kept a long time as is stuff vacuum packaged in Foodsaver bags.

I've had turkeys in the freezer for over a year and cook them just as if I
had a brand new one and I have never had a problem.
