Default Comment/Have any bbq'ed corned beef

I am a lurker who has been wanting to enter the group now for awhile....I
have also particularly noted that a post by a 'Kent' on 3/18/05 about bbq
some corned beef......

I just wanted to say that having read that and a lot of recent posts...I
don't want to come in...That of course would not disturb you much as you
haven't gotten to know me.....

But I see that that post is riddled with a lot of 'Pedantic
Queens'....Hassling over whether the poster should be reading the FAQ (I
suppose) and so on......What is it with you lot...Get rid of your Queens and
your group will be the healthier for the cleanout.

If you want to tell the fellow that it would be good for him to read up on
the group...then mention it..and try (if you can) and give him an answer
!...instead of going on like a lot of Pedantic Queens !

Do a Google search on this newsgroup and read the posts by your good
buddy "Kent"
You, too can brine in your backyard if that is what you want.

Also, while you are there (in Google) search this group on your
"Queens" and make your own decisions.

Not the healthiest way to engage a group of people. Problem is, most
folks enter and ask very basic questions which have been answered a ton
of times earlier, which is the whole reasoning about an FAQ in the first
place.

Would you walk into a store looking for video equipment and ask what a
television was?

Good start, Bubba. I appreciate the heads-up, though, so that you can go

What courage it must have taken to overcome that "lurker" status. Bravo!

I haven't posted here much at all, as I just recently got into BBQ and
smoking. But I do hang out in a few motorcycle groups. This group is
actually very similar, but for sure tamer. I'd say that you have
thin-skin, but you didn't even get far enough for that to be a factor.
Seems to me there is a wealth of information here. And I don't care if
there are twelve off-topic or sarcastic replies to every one that's
informative. If that one post is helpful, it's all good...

The signal to noise ratio can be pretty poor here most of the time. But
that seems to mostly be due to just a few persons who seem to have a
personal agenda that motivates them to hijack and divert almost every thread
to suit their purpose. If you've lurked for a while, you have a pretty good
idea who these people are. Do you know how to filter by poster with your
news reader? If not, you should learn. With just a little bit of work, you
can read this group pretty much Queen-free.

BTW, there is a good article on brining and smoking pastrami at the Virtual
Weber site:
http://www.virtualweberbullet.com/pastrami.html

You'll find that site has a lot of great info, even if you don't have a
Weber bullet.

Bbqking, good for you!!!
You have to put the barbecue queens in their proper perspective now and
then.
I have mixed emotions about all of this, even though I have felt the rain of
feces more than most on this NG.
True, my query about Bbq'ing corn beef resulted in the vitreol I would
expect. I was interested in what current or even new thoughts were about
that. I have unfortunately participated in some of those needless vitreolic
threads in the past, and some of these turkeys just can't get over it. No
one came forth to my query, possibly because the Queens were shouting in
their expected fashion.
The reason I have mixed emotions about this is that to some degree we all
look with interest at what the squabbling ninnies, such as Kevin S.., Bugg,,
Curry in his grave, probably with a tape recorder, Bob above, etc., are
going to say. We're all wondering what is coming next. There used to be a
lot of this on another NG, ba.food about food in the SF Bay area. We all
waited expectantly what the queenies, or kingies in Meg's case what kind of
caca was coming next. That all died when the main queenie left, and now
ba.food is quite boring.
Even as I write this, I am wondering what that bozo from Idaho is going to
say!
So come forward and post. You don't have to lurk. Most of us will appreciate
what you say. The Kamado Fags won't, but that's OK.
Just remember the rules.
Say whatever you want.
BBQ includes grilling on charcoal grills, and even on gas grills.
You don't have to use wood; you don't have to smoke, whatever that means.
IT's OK to top post. You then don't have to read the whole thread again to
read what Kevin is shooting his little mouth off about.
Finally, Blob, above. I routinely brine in my garage, at any temp. 40F or
below, in a fermenting container used to make wine. And yes it probably
works better than putting what ever you're brining into the frig.
Again, Bbqking welcome; we look forward to your upcoming posts.

Yep, telling you there's a very current thread on just that topic is
vitriol.

Yep, letting you know there was already a thread on that exact same topic is
needless vitriol. How thoughtless of everyone not to expect you to be able
to use a smidgon of common sense and read it.

Your mother still spoon feed you? Why should strangers?

But thanks @barbie.net for letting yourself be known.

You inspired everyone to be as helpful as possible to you.

These Folk always Crucify any poster that varies with their way....For
instance..I remember a 'Moose....' someone that used to post here a few
years back. He apparently came from a cooking group in rec. He liked to
first 'Boil' his ribs a little first before he cooked them..what a ruckus
that caused...They absolutely 'Crucified' the guy and spoke disparagingly of
him for years...All because he differed from their view !

You mean that attention whore posing as a troll?
I wonder why he made most of his posts here x-archive no? Because he's proud
of what he did here I'm sure.

Here's the typical brou haha
==================
Petulant Poster: Hi guys, I'm looking to improve my results when making BBQ
ribs. Here what I do, 1st I boil them, then slather in sauce and put them
under the broiler. I use KC Masterpiece. Anyone able to help?

RegularGuy: Well, that's cooking, but for usage round here BBQ is low n slow
with coals. You probably want to take this to a cooking group.

PP: NO! What I do is as much BBQ as what you DO!.

RG: Sorry, cant help you

PP: BLAH BLAH BLAH

RG: **** off tard
===================

Poor moosemeat, all he wanted was to know how to parboil ribs and got his
widdle feelings hurt. Not.

But anyway, uh, plonk
