I sure wish I were as eloquent as you Steve because you pretty well
summed it up. What I can't figure out is why anyone would hang around
here knowing how we are. It's baffeling how so many people could be in
tune with one another, and a stranger cannot understand it and '****'
off. In other words, we will close the door on people who try to butt in
with views that are not acceptable to this group. Gus is absolutely
right in that he can post anywhere he wants to on Usenet. But 'we'are
not obligated to respond.

After a 22 year run of blissful singularity I am marrying my best friend,
Aileen, on Valentine's Day. She'll also be joining me in my real estate
business as well. If any of you are conveniently located to Bainbridge
Island, WA, I'd be honored to have you witness this spectacle which by it's
rarity is surely a sign of the Apocolypse. We're too old and jaded to go
through the crap of planning a wedding so this things is gonna be a small
quickie. 1:30ish at the Wyatt House on Wyatt and Madison near the ferry
dock.

Congratulations, JD! What made you finally decide to take the plunge? Did
you just look at her the "wrong" way one day and go, yeah, I'll take
that...?

JD, I'm very happy for you both and I wish you a long happy healthy, life
together. I hope the real estate biz flourishes form the partnership, too.

I regret that i'll be unable to enjoy the festivities in person, but it's
probably just as well. I woulda got drunk and fallen off the dock anyhow.

I've been open to the idea for years but I didn't want to raise someone
elses kids (unless she was a widow) plus after two marriages I had a real
good idea of what I *didn't* want. Add in that when I divorced at 30, I was
one good looking man and women threw themselves at me. Not a whole lot of
incentive to make a commitment, if ya get my drift. In those 22 years I've
been all over the world and had more adventures than 99% of the folks out
there. The only thing that could have made my life better after that was
someone to share it with. If the truth be told, I wasn't sure I'd know the
right one if she bit me on the ass so I prayed that I'd know her when I saw
her. We pretty much knew it from the gitgo. The rest is a fairy tale in the
making.

How, you ask? There's an old Texas platitude, "Even a blind chicken gets a
kernel of corn now and then". I was lucky....damn lucky. We'll be back.
We've pretty much agreed that Rt 2 through Wenatchee is the default route to
Spokane from now on.

Seriously??!? We've been going nuts trying to find someone to officiate
without making us go through the pre-sentencing counseling and requiring
that we join their church. We're 52 years old fer Chrissakes, as if
counseling us would have much effect.

Look in the phone book for a Unitarian-Universalist church, they'll

Here in Washington it's "Even a blind stoner finds a bud every day".

Unless you live in Granite Falls where it's

"Even a blind tweaker *finds* some money to buy his meth every day".

I've been to a Marriage performed by the Furry Footed Reverand. It was
sensitive, pithy and tuned to the wishes of the Nuptualees.

And I've seen the video. Furry foot did amaze even me with his
sensitivity. If it happens that the right woman ever finds me, I just
might have to fly the furry one down to Phloridah for the service.

It's worth the trip to Wenatchee, Wa. Don't be such a tight ass. :-)

Hey, TFM?

I didn't know you were Nuptualees. I thought you was American.

Gee, you never can tell....

You've got the right idea, BOB. Don't search, just be open to discovery.

Perhaps, Nuptialists, a Bride or Wife; and a Bridegroom or Husband, would
have been more correct. I meant 'those subjected to a nuptual', badhkin!

I dunno, Brick. Eloquent or not, your reply up above to Graham's post
pretty well said it all, except for the one ommission that Kili pointed
out.

It's pretty clear that he thinks he owns the ng and we must behave to
suit him. If he doesn't like the way we behave, he doesn't have to
participate.
