Default If serving finger food, do you still use the 'fancy' napkins?

If it is informal then go paper. It sends out mixed messages if you set down linen. Linen is for contemplative, formal, ritual not a get together. Also paper plates so that the guests do not feel like they are leaving you with a lot of work to do.
