Default Smoking Salmon in a WSM

Wow - your steelhead pics look great. Have you ever used anything besides lettuce underneath? The lettuce gave me visions of leeks cut in half as a bed each half rotated 180 degrees - would provide moisture flavor and stick protection. Do tell - temp, time, seasoning..
