Barbecue (alt.food.barbecue) Discuss barbecue and grilling--southern style "low and slow" smoking of ribs, shoulders and briskets, as well as direct heat grilling of everything from burgers to salmon to vegetables.

Default Propane or Butane

I have recently purchased a Propane burning Barbeque from the USA and would
like to use Butane as I already have the regulator. Here in the UK the
preferred gas for a Barbecue is Butane. Would there be any issues using
Butane on a Propane recommended Barbecue.

Any info appreciated.

Regards

Sven

Sven, have a look he http://www.barbecuen.com/rightgrill.htm
In the section regarding "Gas Facts". A good read about the
properties of both fuels in a grill, but does not expressly answer
your question about conversion. Best you communicate with the
manufacturer.
