whoa nellie!

Well, my daughters drove up from San Antone for the weekend and guess what
the first words out of their mouth were? Yep, "Dad, we need ya to cook up a
bunch of Q for us to take home." So, now my stocks in da deep freeze is
down a bit. Cooked up 10 lbs of sausage, 20 lbs of chicken, a 10 lb butt,
50 burgers, 50 brats and a nice 13 pound brisket (I almost kept this one).

I tried to scarf some back for supper tonight but they had it packaged and
in their cooler faster than I can blink. Oh well, that's what Dads is for.

Left over hamburgers? Yuck. You need to teach those kids to fish, not
provide them the fish. Go down to the Walmart and buy them a cheap Meco
grill. By the time you retire, they'll have moved up to a Kamado or
something and can provide for you!

Spud, them 2 girls of mine could fish ya socks off and not bat an eye
doin it. But that's not the point. It's about makin folks ya love
happy and doin nice things for em.

Hmmm... I retire in 16 months. Ya think they can make it up to a K
unit by then? But, I don't need my kids to be Q'n for me. I do right
nicely all by myself.

Ah hell, frohe, I'm gettin all teary eyed over here. I can only hope my
daughter ever actually asks me cook somethin' *good* for her. Somethin'
sides Kraft Mac and Cheese (Harry D translation: Kraft Dinner) and frozen
Texas Toast.
<sigh> We all have our fantasies, don't we?
