Had to get rid of our gas bbq grill, big green egg too. We had them on our
patio near our bird feeder and bird bath. Rats thought it was heaven. I
even cooked a rat or 2 not knowing they were in there when I grilled our
steaks. This is no joke. They were also raising a family in our big green
egg. Got rid of the egg and gas grill. Just couldn't stand the thought of
eating anything cooked on them again. Back to the smallest Weber charcoal
grill we could find. At least we can close all the vent holes when not
using it.

Thanks. We have birdfeeders on our patio as well - I'll try to remember to
keep the K closed.

We have several bird feeders in our back yard, as well as fruit
feeding stations, and no rats at all.
Of course, a Lab Retriever mix and a Rat Terrier make it kinda
difficult for any rats/mice to set up housekeeping!

How did they get in your cookers with the tops down and vents
closed?

I have a red squirrel that liked to nest in my gas grill.....'till I tossed
it. He can't figure out how to get in my WSM...He sits in the tree hissing
at me when I'm out cooking.
