Thomas,

Thanks for taking up the blank response/Troll Food Warning. It seems that
some of the regulars appreciate this non-responsive red flag and since I'll
be gone for a week, I'm glad you're taking up the duties.

In Agent, and I suspect in any threaded newsreader, both your post and
Thomas's show up as BRAND-NEW EMPTY posts, utterly unrelated to the
flame-bait post. That helps how?

They show up on mine as nasty lil name-calling replies to the trolls post on
mine, for what its worth.

On topic portion:
I like my Q served with a nice Carolina style vinegar sauce on the side.

I think everybody is confusing "new thread" with "new post".

To keep Agent from starting a new thread, uncheck:

Options->General Prefs->Message List, and then either the first or
second box. UNfcortuinately its a global option so if you change it
for this group, you change it for every group.

I think the followup message are ridiculous and have killfiled the
(now) two posters who do it. Much less white noise that way. Pretty
soon I figure I'll just stop reading the group, period.

I should have been more clear. I meant "a brand-new thread consisting
of one empty post."

Not a solution, then. I would prefer to see a new thread if the
subject line is changed. Thanks, anyway.

Hey hey, Nate here, checking in. Nearly halfway (boo hoo!) through
the vacation in Malaysia.

I am not using a newsreader to follow the threads; Google Groups is
doing the work. Unfortunately, those renamed troll threads are
showing up as single, blank, new posts. This is not helpful. If the
OP or anyone else wishes to do this, could they preface the subject
with an "OT" or something? Just a little suggestion.

If I were back home using my normal newsreader, it would be a simple
matter to ignore/kill the whole troll thread but Google can't do that.

OBFood: halfway through our vacation but no way NEAR finished eating
all the great food here!
