having some good luck with my homemade sausages (so far excellent
Bratwurst, Chicken Apple and Spicy hunter sausage)...trying out a hot
link recipe this weekend....

Say, if you are coming up I-5 from San Diego on your forthcoming trip
and wanna last pit-stop in Eugene before the last leg back up to
Washington, let me know...be more than happy to fill your cooler with
some smoky meat goodness.

I'm actually hanging a right at Weed, CA and heading north to Wenatchee on
US 97. I guess I'll have to wait till you head up this way. :-)

Sure good to hear (read) you're back Dave. It's unlikely that I can make
it to your grand opening, but I'll be waiting with baited breath to hear
all about it. The one BBQ place that I can recommend in the Tampa
area is First Choice Southern Bar-B-Que at 10113 Adamo Dr Tampa, Fl.
(Actually it's at the Brandon, FL Town Center) Ph. 813-621-7434. They
cook with real wood in open pits that you can see from the serving line
and they serve their (pretty good) sauce on the side.

I'd put Luling's City Market's brisket right at the top, with Black's in
Lockhart a close second. It would be my pleasure to host you to an
afternoon taste testing to see if you concur.

Dave,

Glad to see your back and feeling better than ever. Really happy that
the Q joint is still in the works. Would be really nice to attend the
grand opening, but for me it is a long shot. Not impossible, but have
some catching up to do after being out of work for 1 year and only 6
weeks into the new job.

Keep us posted on the progress. Pics of the joint being remodeled/built
would be cool too.
