Breaking in Weber grates

The old Weber grates just died of old age. Is there a best way to "break in"
new steel grates for the 22" Weber? Do you have a taste problem the first
few times you use them? Should you do anything special, other than cleaning
as much as you can?

Wash, oil them before you put the food on. If you get any taste from using
them, it is in your head.
