Barbecue (alt.food.barbecue) Discuss barbecue and grilling--southern style "low and slow" smoking of ribs, shoulders and briskets, as well as direct heat grilling of everything from burgers to salmon to vegetables.

Default is there a meat smoker FAQ?

I'm just getting into thinking about building/using a meat smoker. I'm a
decent cook and a decent welder/fabricator, but I've never smoked anything
except salmon, and that in one of the little Luhr Jensen boxes.

Is there a FAQ on smoking? I wonder for example if you smoke a whole turkey
what happens to all the grease that drips off it? I also wonder about if this
is the best place to correspond with people who are into building smokers
as opposed to just cooking with/on one.

Thanks!
